The September Project
One blend per day in certain Septembers. Why do it? I don't know. Why some years and not others? I don't know that, either. What does it mean? Again...don't know. I sort of wish I did, but at the same time, I'm kind of glad I don't really know why. I guess it's art for art's sake. I think the first one was an attempt at self-expression during a time where I felt horrifically silenced, and no matter what I said with words, something would get misunderstood or someone would be unintentionally hurt, so I chose my usual route of crypticism and turned it up to eleven. A picture's worth a thousand words, after all.
I certainly didn't think, back in 2012, that it would still be happening ten years onwards. It amuses me to see the changes in quality and even just size as the years go by.
Even if it's weird and inexplicable, I'm still pretty proud of the September Project as a whole. Some pieces are actually kinda beautiful. I hope that doesn't come off as arrogant, but I really do think that some of them are worth a look or a link, you know? Just a little bit.
There was no Project for 2026. Some years without are because I don't feel the pull to do it, some years are because I know it won't be finished or I simply don't have the mental or physical spoons to do it. 2026 was the latter. There's a lot of utter shyte I want to exorcise from myself, but something just told me that a September Project for this year just wasn't the right place for it. Funnily enough, I stuck to the theme: I don't know why.
